Fundraising!

Three months on from receiving my acceptance letter I have almost hit my half way point, raising the grand total of £2500! This has kept me extremely busy, possibly a bit too distracted from College but ahh well. I could go into all the ins and outs of how I have raised this money but here is a brief summary:
Car boot sales, church coffee mornings, college BBQ, weighing in old clothes, avon representative, collection tins, fundraiser days and a college social.
I have also received extraordinary donations from numerous charitable organisations, adding up to £1,850 of my total so far.

I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way :)

Selection

After spending a rigorous week on the isle of Coll partaking in numerous different activities and interviews, I was selected to spend a year volunteering in Peru 2014-15. There I shall be working in an orphanage with abandoned children, offering as much help and support in every way possible. This shall be a massive change to living in my small home town of Darlington for the last 17 years. I am thrilled with the project and country I have been given and cannot wait till this time next year when I will be embarking on this life changing trip!

To make this journey possible I have to raise the large sum of £5.600 to cover my flights, accommodation, food and insurance, any donations are appreciated and extremely welcome on www.virginmoneygiving.com/torylindsay.

I will be keeping this blog up to date throughout my fundraising process and during my year out (if I have the luxury of internet) for anyone who would like to follow my adventure. So far I have had a wonderful week on Coll, having the pleasure of making some amazing friends and look forward to heading back up there for training :)
